Growing up in Gary, Indiana as a young adult, EL Raphael Hudson understands the meaning of struggle. Balancing the weight of his circumstances and the conditions that he lived in, EL was forced to live an incredibly tedious life. If it weren’t for his entrepreneurial spirit, EL would have been homeless. He did what he had to do to survive the environment that surrounded him
One day EL decided that the path he decided to take would not have a good ending. He knew that he wanted and needed more out of life. So he moved away which changed his life forever. The struggle did not end, it was just different.
Regardless of his past, El knew that he had to focus on becoming a better person. This became his primary goal. He worked hard, established a career in corporate sales and management and always had a part-time business of his own. He thought life was going great.
After 20 years of making a life for himself, everything came to a complete stop. Within a year and a half, EL was laid off from three separate companies due to company downsizing or bankruptcy. During this time he was also affected by the real estate crash. He lost everything. Once again, he found himself in a homeless situation.
He went through a deep depression, and he struggled with life. He decided at that point that he would never allow his life and happiness to be dictated by another. So, he began to rebuild, this time working full time for himself. He has been living his life on his terms for over ten years now.
Even though things were getting better, he was still unhappy. Over the years, he was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADHD and he still had some serious anger management issues.
One day he just got tired of being unhappy. He was searching for peace of mind. He grew up as a Christian, but decided to start looking at other religions and philosophies. After years of studying and trying out new practices and philosophies, He found his peace.
EL abused alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes for over 25 years years. He lived self-destructive lifestyle until he experienced multiple heart attacks in his early forties. What he did not realize (until later) was that he was subconsciously committing a slow suicide.
Fortunately, there was a tomorrow for EL and now his focus has changed tremendously. He stopped doing drugs, smoking cigarettes and will have an occasional drink. Although, he does enjoy a good cigar. The point is, it is never too late to reinvent yourself. He is in his fifties and still learning and evolving.
Life is a journey, and EL still has a ton of goals to meet. No matter what happens in life, good or bad, He will never stop working toward improving who he is.
Life coaching is paramount to EL because of his past. He wants to help people understand, no matter how bad life is, there is always an option… a better tomorrow and you are not alone. We can choose to be victims, or we can choose to take control of our lives. We are all unique with a unique path. Allow him to walk beside you on your journey.

“I want to inspire and be inspired by others. I want to grow and help others grow as well. Who you surround yourself with plays a significant role in your life, so I choose to surround myself with as much positive light as possible.” – EL Raphael Hudson
